In the final part of my review of the BH-703 bluetooth headset, I am going to talk about the call quality and whether the device could perform well in noisy environments (as well as overall conclusions about the headset)…
I have tested the headset using a Nokia N73, N80 and N82 and I was impressed at the quality of the calls I received through the device.
Each of the calls I made sounded really clear through the earphone with no interference, and there was no problems at all for the person at the other end of the call to understand what I was saying during the conversation.
The BH-703 features Digital Signal Processing (DSP) which helps to cancel out any background noise, and transmits your voice clearly. There was no sign of an echo at all and my voice was transmitted at a suitable volume.
I was able to walk approximately 5-6 metres away from the device paired with the headset before any signs of crackle/interferance, but even at this distance it was minimal. Obviously the further you walk away, the greater the interferance you will get.
In noisy areas (such as shopping centres or even in the street) the BH-703 performed really well. You can turn the speaker up using the touch sensitive surface to a really high volume and I didn’t find this to distort the sound at all which is great! Again, my voice was transmitted clearly with no issues – the DSP that the headset makes use of would have been put to good use here.
I was really impressed with how well this headset performed while making and receiving phone calls. It is a really pleasant experience.
If you are looking to play music through this headset however, I wouldn’t recommend this device. It hasn’t been designed for listening to music and this does show. The quality of music played through the headset isn’t very good. Not only that, but you will only be listening to mono sound so even if it was better, you still wouldn’t get a great music experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Nokia BH-703 when it arrives in stores. It is a very attractive and relatively lightweight headset which I have found a pleasure to use. Definitely one of the best looking bluetooth headsets I have seen.
You will be absolutely fine wearing the device for large periods of time and I found it really easy to set up and use. Call quality through the headset again is very good – there are no problems at all here.
A big thank you to WomWorld for allowing me to trial the pre-sales version of this device and I hope you found the review useful!
