Nokia Music Press Event – Announcements

Sorry for being slightly off-topic here by showing you non-Nseries devices, but i’m going to update you on the announcement that happened earlier on today. As we thought, nothing truly exciting happened!!!

Nokia Music Press Event – April 22nd 2008

Nokia is holding a Music Press Event tomorrow at 11.30am UK time. No other details are available at what could possibly be announced so we have all been left guessing!

Will there be any new devices??? I don’t think there will be any S60 announcements (and would be surprised if there were any at all), but (fingers crossed!!!) the Nokia Music Desktop Client will be released and should provide a better music experience with our devices!

Another possible announcement could be more music labels participating in ‘Comes With Music’.

Details will be revealed tomorrow and you can view the webcast live if you want to be one of the first to know and if you can’t make it, it should be available to watch again shortly after the event!

*** Update: After some snooping round the net I have found these datasheets and press photos for a couple of music orientated devices to be announced today at the press event!!! An S40 device (5220) and the S60 (5320).

Nokia N96 and N95 8GB Side-By-Side

Some fantastic pictures of the upcoming Nokia N96 have surfaced thanks to PConline.com.cn!

When the device is turned off and you can see just how sleek the flat surface of the N96 is and the screen is now covered by the whole of the front fascia instead of a seperate piece which I think looks really nice!

Nokia N95 8GB – Another One Bites the Dust

It was great while it lasted but ANOTHER N95 8GB has bitten the dust…

I don’t understand why this happens, I just leave it on my desk stand and then I come back to the device with no power. When I switch it back on again I just get a blank screen. The only way to power off is to remove the battery.

No reset methods cure it… This is the only model I have had to do this and it is really unexplained…

There was nothing installed on the device that could be causing this, on previous ones I hadn’t installed anything at all and the only thing I installed on the latest was Share Online 3.

I have another expensive paper weight at the moment and I am back with the N80 😦

Has anyone else experienced this???

*** Update: The online store is kindly going to provide me with another replacement handset as soon as they can and my paperweight was collected earlier on today! Hopefully i’ll get one from a new batch of them and the problem will not occur again. Time will tell!!!

Nokia N82 in Black!

The new black N82 variant is slowly being released to retail stores and the first clear live images of the device are starting to appear! Here are some comparison shots against the original Titanium version of the handset courtesy of CNMO.com

I am really starting to like this colour scheme and prefer it (I think) to the original Titanium version, but everyone is different!!!

Nokia N95 8GB v20.0.016 Firmware Confirmed and Released!!!

20 must be a magic number lately and the N95 8GB has received ANOTHER firmware update! This is fantastic news for N95 8GB owners and the experience just gets better and better!

It is slowly being released to various different product codes so keep checking the Nokia Software Updator and be patient! The update should also be at Nokia Service Points within the next few days.

Nokia N82 – It’s back!!! and Firmware v20.0.062 (Part 5)

I told you it would miss me! 😉 I think there was a little mix-up when sending the N810 and BH-803 and strangely there is another Nokia N82 back at Talk About Nseries!!!

This is no problem though because I can now update previous posts that I have made on the device, and tell you my thoughts about the firmware that was released for the N82 yesterday!

Nokia N82 v20.0.062 Firmware Confirmed and Released!!!

Symbian-Freak has the news that the Nokia N82 has received the firmware update that was hinted which includes built-in Geotagging, web runtime widgets and not only that, but also integrated Flash Lite 3!

As usual, other improvements as well as bug fixes and stability enhancements have been added as listed below!

It is available through the Nokia Software Updater and should also be in service points within the next few days.

This now brings the Nokia N82 level with the N95 and N95 8GB which now makes it even more difficult to choose between the two!

Nokia N810 Thoughts and Review

The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet will be making its way to Talk About Nseries really soon thanks to the guys at WomWorld so stay tuned for more!!!

I am a COMPLETE newbie with Internet Tablets and have not had any experience of one at all so I will be doing my research tonight! 😉

What is good about this is that I will be able to review the device as a newcomer and find out just how easy it is to use for someone with no experience with this kind of device at all.

I am looking forward to put the device through it’s paces, find out what it can do, how it could benifit you and of course keep you posted with what I think!!!

Nokia and Music Management

I was transferring songs to my N95 8GB earlier today by connecting it to the computer in Data Transfer mode and copying music across to the Mass Storage as if it were a USB flash drive. It got me thinking… shouldn’t there be a better solution to do this and manage the music I have on my device?
